Grebes
Grebes are an ancient family of birds going back 80 million years. These birds are well adapted to diving with lobed toes on legs
that are well back on the body, making walking awkward. Grebes have involved courting rituals that are fun to watch and listen to. They
construct floating nests of available plant materials among dense shore cover. The young are precocial and able to swim at hatching.
